Qualifiers ran from March to November 2023
The European Qualifiers for UEFA EURO 2024 ran from March to November 2023 with the play-offs for the remaining finals places taking place in March 2024. The qualifying draw took place in Frankfurt on Sunday 9 October 2022.
How does EURO 2024 qualifying work?
The 55 UEFA nations were drawn into ten groups, with the top two teams in each group qualifying directly for the finals. The ten group winners and ten runners-up qualified directly for the finals, while the remaining eight teams entered the play-offs to determine the final three qualifiers.
Play-off details
The play-offs will be played in March 2024, with the three winners qualifying for the finals. The play-offs will be played over two legs, with the teams drawn into three paths of four teams each. The winners of each path will qualify for the finals.
Group stage draw
The group stage draw took place in Frankfurt on Sunday 9 October 2022. The 24 qualified teams were drawn into six groups of four teams. The top two teams in each group will qualify for the knockout stages.
Group stage fixtures
The group stage fixtures will be played from 14 June to 14 July 2024. The venues for the group stage matches have not yet been announced.
Knockout stages
The knockout stages will be played from 15 July to 12 August 2024. The knockout stages will be played in a single-elimination format, with the winners of each match advancing to the next round.
